Fuerteventura

Situated off the west coast of Africa and to the south of Lanzarote the volcanic island of Fuerteventura recieves the brunt of North Atlantic swells from October to April. The north shore coastline is home to many classic reefs and beach breaks that work in a variety of swell/wind conditions and there's also some hidden gems if you are prepared to look around. The waves have near hawaiin power and localism hasn't yet reached a point of no return. For the rest of the year the waves are more manageable and the beach breaks provide consistent fun waves ideal for beginners and intermediates.

The quality of the waves, crystal clear waters, excellent tourist infrastructure, dry arid climate, hardly any rainfall plus relatively balmy water temperatures earns it a reputation for being one Europe’s top surfing destinations.

Corralejo

Although Corralejo is the most well developed tourist resort in Fuerteventura, it is still growing at an amazing rate. Despite this growth, the resort is still relatively low rise and has retained some of its original charm. The beaches in Corralejo are truly superb and all have views of the neighbouring islands of Lobos and Lanzarote. Whilst the resort has a lively atmosphere, it is unthreatening and very family-friendly. The harbour in Corralejo is the starting point for many excursions including boat strips to Lobos and Lanzarote and dolphin watching safaris.

Costa Calma

Costa Calma boasts some of the most spectacular beaches in Europe and has been popular with holiday makers from Germany, Holland and Scandinavia for many years. The vast stretches of golden sand and calm sea make this area a perfect year round destination for kitesurfers, windsurfers and families. The resort of Costa Calma has an excellent selection of shops, bars and restaurants to meet all budgets. Just a 5 minute drive away is La Lajita Oasis wildlife park which is great for a family day out. As Costa Calma is a 50 minute drive from Fuerteventura, a hire car is strongly recommended.
