ZOCO Locations & Resorts Worldwide

Lanzarote

Ideal for surfers, windsurfers, kiteboarders & watersports enthusiasts You have chosen one of the most beautiful Canary Islands for your holiday – Lanzarote. Whether it's your first time visiting the island or you are one of the growing numbers visiting the island regularly. At Zoco Shelter, we have accommodation to suit your individual holiday rental requirements.

Costa Teguise

At the heart of Costa Teguise is Las Cucharas beach which is popular with families, sun worshippers and windsurfers. This is the most popular beach with windsurfers and is the location of many windsurf schools. A section of the beach is dedicated to the sport and is zoned to make accessing the water easier for windsurfers. A pretty promenade runs the length of the beach where there is a good selection of bars and shops. Just a two minute walk from Las Cucharas beach is Pueblo Marina. This quaint square was built to the design of local architect, Cesar Manrique. Within the square is a selection of bars, restaurants and shops but on a Friday it comes alive with the weekly craft market. There´s a lot of tacky stuff, but it´s worth a visit. If nothing else it saves you having to suffer the Sunday market in the near by town of Teguise!

Playa Famara

The urbanization of 'Playa Famara' was designed by a Norwegian architect with the aim of creating holiday homes that blend into and coexist with the natural environment. It comprises of approx. 200 semi-circular bungalows located in the foothills of the 'Los Riscos' mountain range overlooking the bay of Famara. The bay of Famara has the largest natural beach on the island and has many good surfing breaks that work on various states of the tide. It is also the kitesurfing capital of Lanzarote. The urbanization has a bar/restaurant, a local shop and a communal solar heated pool. The village of Caleta de Famara is only a 10 minute walk away.

Caleta de Famara

The sleepy fishing village of La Caleta de Famara is located at the southern end of the Playa Famara. It has been a favourite base for surfers from all over the world for many years. Over the past couple of years it has also become increasingly popular with kitesurfers. The village has a good vibe, laidback atmosphere and various tapas bars, restaurants, supermarkets and surf shops. It's a far cry away from mass toursim and will appeal to those who wish to kick back and enjoy the Canarian pace of life. Think J-Bay 20 years ago and you’ll get the picture.

Zoco has a good selection of privately owned apartments located in the village of La Caleta de Famara. The standard apartments are suitable for the budget conscious surfer and for the more discerning traveller we have apartments with extra creature comforts.

The village itself offers a good selection of bars and restaurants with something to suit all tastes and budgets including local tapas, freshly caught fish, a pizzeria and a Chinese Restaurant.
